We are "knitting up" for another exciting art fair season!

Our first show is the Fountain Square Art Festival in Evanston, Ill., on June 26 and 27. This is a new market for us and we are excited to share Blackpurl with our new friends in Chicago! If you are in Chicago, come by and check out our new, fresh designs. If you are not in Chicago, remember we always take special orders. Just send us an email or give us a call.

Another show we are thrilled to participate in is the Shaw Art Fair in St. Louis on Oct. 2 and 3. This is a wonderful show held on the beautiful streets of the Shaw neighborhood, bordering the Missouri Botanical Garden.

BLACKPURL Updates / Upcoming Show Information

Our hands have been busy this Spring creating new scarfs, shawls and small knitted bags.

BLACKPURL will be participating in Art Fair Jackson Hole 2009 in Jackson, Wyoming on

July 17-19. We're really looking forward to being out West enjoying the beauty of Yellowstone and the Tetons. We will have pictures of the Art Fair in a future update.

After returning from Wyoming our next show is the Schlafly Art Outside Fair in St. Louis on September 11-13.

I am back from vacation and so motivated knit!!

I found great yarn shops in and around Seattle and started way too many new projects. I will post some of the works-in-progress soon.

Soooo.....let's move out some of the in-stock scarves to make room on the rack for the new ones. Everything at my Etsy site is marked over 50% OFF the normal price. Now is the time to get a head-start on holiday shopping and take advantage of the great deals. Once the scarf is gone, it's gone...they are all one-of-a-kind. BUT, of course we always take special orders.

Sunday rain

What a great day for knitting! I was praying for rain yesterday, so I wouldn't feel guilty about knitting all day and watching movies...and we got it! I had one of those great days when I finished projects that weren't quite done...fringing, edging, binding off. I really feel like I accomplished something. Then, I was free to start a new project, and what do you know, I finished that too! (But, I forgot to take a picture of that one, so you will see it later).

I am working with one of my all-time favorite yarns. It is so pretty by itself and lends itself so well to this pattern. It is a cotton ribbon/tape that is slightly variegated, which adds wonderful texture to the piece. I will let you know when I am finished and post an "after" photo. I also have this yarn in celery.

For the past year, we have been creating new designs incorporating beads into our knitting. It definitely sets our scarves apart and expands the whole creative process.
